Melinda Clarke has claimed that her career has been building to her new role on Nikita. The actress told TV Squad that she is excited by creator Craig Silverstein's plans for her character Amanda.

"I told Craig... this the other day," she explained. "As we were speaking about the character and what they have planned for Amanda, it just sounded like everything I've done has just led up to this one [role]."

Clarke added that the character will be a "mentor" to the recruits at sinister government agency Division.

"[Her] responsibility is going to cover more than just teaching girls how to walk and talk and look pretty and use their sexuality," she said. "We're going to find out that she has a lot more to offer Division. She's high up in Division, she's trained and very skilled."
