"Nikita" spoiler from Fancast.com below...
Q: Do you have any scoop on ‘Nikita‘? Especially on Melinda Clarke’s character?
A: Shortly after the CW action-drama debuts on September 9, it will be revealed that the ‘O.C.’ alum’s character, Amanda, is nicknamed “The Inquisitor” because of her very thorough interrogation skills. Meaning, if you’re a hostile being detained by the top-secret Division and you won’t talk, expect a visit from Amanda… and don’t be surprised if she comes wearing (eek) a latex glove.
As the executive producer of The CW’s new drama Nikita, Craig Silverstein wanted to make a female action show, but knew that if he was going to tell the story of Nikita (Maggie Q), it would have to be different from what fans already knew.
During an interview to promote the action series, Craig Silverstein talked about how this new Nikita story came to be, what makes the story so compelling and the importance of always surprising an audience. Check out what he had to say...
Q: How exactly did this series come about? Were you a fan of the previous incarnations of Nikita and wanted to do another version of it, or did you want to do a female assassin show, and they decided to put the name on it for marketing purposes?
Craig: Yeah, Warner Bros. and I were trying to figure out something to do. They said, “We have Nikita,” and I said, “That’s good. I like it.” The CW was also actively looking to make a female action show. So, from there, it was about wanting to do it and just trying to figure out a way to make it fresh. - Full Interview. Lyndsy Fonseca, who plays Alex in Nikita, did an interview with Collider.com:
Question: What was your reaction to reading the Nikita pilot script and how was the audition process for you?
Lyndsy: It was during a very, very busy time in my auditioning world. I was doing three a day. The material is so intense and there was so much work to be done, it was hard. They put me through the ringer, for sure, but it was something that I worked really hard it. This is a character that does not come around in every script. I knew it was a little gem, so I worked hard. - Full Interview Labels: Lyndsy Fonseca, Nikita, Season 1, the CW

Maggie Q has admitted that new CW drama Nikita does focus on her physical appearance. She told Collider that she was keen for viewers to focus on the storyline rather than her looks.
"The CW is a very fashion-oriented network and they like their stars to look a certain way," she explained. "I like that, but at the same time, I need Nikita to be toned down a bit."
She added: "They're obsessed with her looks in the series, which is hilarious, whereas I'm obsessed with the material."
The actress also revealed that she had hated wearing a revealing red bikini for the show's pilot episode.
"That red bikini was the bane of my existence," she claimed. "You're not going to see me in a bikini again, that's for sure. I was horrified to wear that. I was mortified." Labels: Maggie Q, Nikita, Season 1, the CW
Devon Sawa - most fondly remembered for starring in 2000's "Final Destination" film that kicked off the franchise -- will guest star on The CW's new action drama "Nikita" this fall, a rep for the network confirms.
Nikita (Maggie Q) was trained to be an assassin by Division, went rogue and is now back to try to take the agency down. Sawa will play a character named Owen, who is a match for Nikita when it comes to skills. - Zap2it.com Labels: Devon Sawa, Nikita, Season 1, Spoiler, the CW
Nikita star Lyndsy Fonseca has admitted that she enjoys filming fight scenes for the show. She told Zap2It that her character Alex would be involved in several major brawls early on in the first season.
"I've had two episodes of fight sequences with Tiffany Hines (Jaden) and then [an] episode with Ashton Holmes (Thom)," she explained. "Already we did brawl cat-fighting and now we're doing the bo staff."
She added: "I think the regular fighting is easier. It's a little more rough and stuff, but [with] the bo staff, the faster you do it, the better it looks, so that's what I'm practising right now. I really like these challenges."
Fonseca also revealed that Alex's fearless nature is what makes her a perfect assassin. "There's not a whole lot that can scare Alex," she claimed. "She's not afraid of dying. She's been through it all. You name it, she went through it." - Digitalspy.co.uk Labels: Lyndsy Fonseca, Nikita, Season 1, the CW
In it's 9PM time-slot, "Nikita" is up against "Grey's Anatomy", "CSI", "Fringe" and "The Office". Tvbythenumbers.com tells us how they think the show will far against it's stiff competition:
"I got an e-mail asking whether I thought Nikita will beat Fringe. No, I don’t. Fringe will still finish fourth for the hour, but I won’t be surprised, especially early on, if Nikita improves the hour for CW versus Supernatural." Labels: Nikita, Season 1, the CW

25 August 2010,
Nikita star Shane West has claimed that his character may not be as villainous as he first appears.
The actor plays mysterious Division operative Michael, who shares a secret past with Nikita (Maggie Q).
He told the Los Angeles Times: "Michael's not inherently a bad guy, at all. He's doing some things that I think he started off believing in, and now he's a little unsure. But he does have a good heart."
West added that his character's loyalties are "very complicated" and that he considers the Division to be "kind of his family [with] the recruits".
He also admitted that he is uncertain about the specifics of Michael and Nikita's past. "He trained her [and] helped her out when she joined Division," he explained. "We haven't got into the details of [their history] yet and we're not necessarily sure where it's going to go."
25 August 2010,
Maggie Q has revealed that the theme of her new series "Nikita" is revenge.
The actress told the Los Angeles Times that the show will explore both Nikita's campaign against a sinister government agency and her personal issues.
"It's a classic revenge tale, but at the same time you're dealing with an incredibly flawed human being," she explained. "[That is] what makes Nikita interesting to me."
Q added that Nikita could begin to doubt her mission as the first season progressed. "There are going to be things that she believes in that she second guesses," she admitted. "That's going to be the colour in her journey, I think."
She also dismissed suggestions that the character's glamorous outfits were unsuitable for her role as a trained assassin. "Nikita's always on these missions, trying to take down this unit of the government, so it's not all glamorous," she argued. "But there are times when she is playing a role, and she gets to be a little bit more dressed up and more of a woman." - Digitalspy.co.uk

NYmag.com was on-location with the "Nikita" production team and here's what they reported:
If one must be stuck in a dark alley outside a Toronto nightclub while Chinese mobsters and government assassins hover in the shadows, it might as well be with Maggie Q. She is, after all, an action star, though to look at her is to question her ass-kicking ability. She is unfathomably thin; her toned arms are marginally bigger around than a Canadian two-dollar coin. She also has the unintimidating habit of cracking herself up, loudly and with knee slaps.
